MIRO

The Mineral Industry Research Organisation (MIRO) is a leading international collaborative research and technological development (RTD) facilitator and provider of project management services to the minerals and related industries.

Since 2002 MIRO has managed the Mineral Industry Sustainable Technology Programme (MIST) on behalf of Defra as part of the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF).

 

The MIST Programme again received funding from Defra’s ALSF Programme to distribute from 2008 to 2011. The 7th call for bids, announced in November 2008, focussed on the gaps and recommendations which came out of the benchmark reviews produced during the ALSF 2007-2008 programme. The call closed on 17th December 2008 and out of 46 applications which were received, 13 projects were funded, varying in length from 3 to 26 months.
