Cumbria Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (CALSF) is administered by Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust (CWMET) on behalf of Cumbria County Council and DEFRA.
ALSF is distributed in Cumbria through a partnership between Cumbria County Council [CCC] and Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust [CWMET] and will contribute to the fourth objective of the ALSF which is ‘compensating local communities for the environmental impacts of aggregate extraction'. Consistent with this objective, CCC and CWMET will award grants for projects in the County in areas that suffer or have suffered environmental impacts of aggregates extraction and associated transport. This Cumbria scheme, Cumbria Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (CALSF) is designed to offer communities the opportunity to plan and implement a range of projects that will compensate local communities for the impact of quarrying.
