Closure

Generally there are no long term impacts as everything is removed when the facility ceases operation. However, an aftercare scheme may be required; the scheme depends on the size of the site, location and the type of activities carried out. The aftercare scheme is agreed between the planning authority and the site operator during the planning application and will be reviewed normally 12 months after the facility ceases operation.
